Qualification & Experience:
Desirable:-
1. Doctorate in a branch of Science or equivalent as per the requirement;
2. Whoever does not have the workable knowledge of Hindi, he/she shall be required to acquire the same during his/her probation period.
Area of Activity: Weather Forecasting (Nowcasting, Short Range, Medium Range), Cyclone Warning, Numerical Weather prediction, Hydromet, Aviation.
The scale of Pay: The post of Scientist G at IMD is in the Pay Level 14 (Rs.144200-218200-) and other allowances as admissible to Central Government employees.
Age limit (as on normal closing date): The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be "Not exceeding 58 years" as on the last date of receipt of applications.
Note: The closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India is the crucial date for the determination of the age limit.
Deputation (including short term contract)
Officers under the Central Govt. or State Govt or Union Territory Administration including their attached and subordinate offices or Universities or recognized research institutions or PSU or Semi-Government or Statutory or Autonomous Organisations and other Non-Government bodies.
(a) (1) Holding similar posts on a regular basis in the parent or department, or with 5 years of service in the grade provided afterward on a regular basis Level 13 A (Rs. 131100-216600/-) in the parent or department, and
(b) Having the professional credentials and expertise required for direct hires.
Note-1: The term of deputation, including the duration of deputation in another ex-framework post held immediately preceding that appointment in the same or any other organization/department of the central government, shall normally not exceed three years, which may be extended by five years from the date of application for approval of the competent authority as per law. General Conditions:
1. The Ministry reserves the right to cancel the recruitment without assigning any reason.
2. The specified necessary qualifications are limited and the mere possession of the same does not grant the candidate the right to be called for an interview. If the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large, it shall not be convenient/possible for the Search cum Selection Committee to interview all the candidates.
