Period of Deputation: 


One year in the first instance and to be extended from time to time or reduced according to the requirements. However, the period of deputation will not-ordinarily exceed three years.


Method of Recruitment and details:


60% by promotion failing which by deputation. 40% by deputation failing which by direct. Deputation is to be made from the Officers of the Central/State Governments/Union Tantiories-

(a) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/department or with 7 years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the Central Govt Pay scale of Rs. 8000-13500 (unrevisedyRs. 15800-39100 Grade Pay (Revised) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; and

(b) Possessing the following educational and other qualifications-Degree in Architecture of a recognized University or equivalent should be registered as Architect with Council of Architecture, India Fifty-five years experience in the profession.

Pay Scale: After getting the selection for the vacant post a pay Scale of Rs.15600-39100/-

Note 1: Qualifications shall be relaxed at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of applicants who are otherwise well trained.

Note 2: The Qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates belonging to scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes If at any stage of selection the UPSC is of the opinion that a large number of applicants from these groups with the requisite experience are unlikely to be eligible to fill the vacancies reserved for them. Departmental officers in the feeder group who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for a deputation appointment. Similarly, deputationists shall not be candidates for promotional appointments. The term of deputation, including the time of deputation for another ex-framework post, held immediately preceding that appointment in the same or any other organization/department of the central government, shall normally not exceed four years. The effective age limit for appointments by deputation shall not exceed 56 years as from the closing date of receipt of applications.


Other Terms and Conditions


1. Disqualification : 

(a) No person,
(a) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person who has a spouse living or
(b) Who, having a spouse living has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person Shall be eligible to be appointed to the post;

Provided that the Central Government can if it is satisfied that such marriage is lawful under the personal law applicable to that person and to the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for doing so, exempt any person from the application of that rule.

2. Power to relax: Where a Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing, and in consultation with the UPSC, relax any of the provisions of these rules in respect to any class or category of persons.

3. Pay: According to the rules of the Chandigarh Administration.

4. DA & Local Allowances: According to the rules of the Chandigarh Administration.

5. T.A. Joining time and transfer T.A.: According to the rules of Govt. to which deputed i.e. Chandigarh Administration.

6. Leave and Pension: The rules of the Parent Govt.

7. Leave Travel concession, Medical concession, and accommodation: According to the Rules of Chandigarh Administration.

8. Pension Contribution: The pension contribution payable by the Administration will be regulated under the Rules of the Parent Govt.
